This listing is for a unique and beautiful Odawara Brass Wind Chime - Bell Cricket Sound, Wind Bell.

This wind chime is made using Odawara metal-casting techniques, which originated in the city of Odawara in western Kanagawa Prefecture and have been passed down since the Muromachi Period (1336 – 1573). The material used here is brass, resulting in a light, dignified tone and a prolonged reverberation resembling the sound of a Japanese bell cricket.
The attached “tanzaku” strip is made using real wood resembling Hakone Yosegi marquetry. 
Hakone Yosegi-zaiku is a type of traditional Japanese marquetry developed in Edo period Japan in the town of Hakone. Resembling a type of mosaic, yosegi is created through the combination of fine oblong rods of wood chosen for their grain, texture and colour, and is well-known for its intricately patterned nature.
