Out of the Hobonichi original accessories, the Hobonichi Pencil Board is one of the most popular items. Keeping it underneath the page you’re writing on allows the reinforcement to provide an enjoyable writing experience. They fit perfectly to the size of the techo book, and will prevent your pen from sliding on the page, and not leave indentations on the opposite page, making for a comfortable writing experience.

In collaboration with Paddington™ from the children’s book A Bear Called Paddington first published in 1958, we’ve created three sizes of pencil boards to use with your techo.

Paddington is a bear who traveled alone from Peru to England, and lives with the Brown family in London. He wears a trademark red hat and blue coat, and loves marmalade sandwiches. He writes letters about his daily life and sends them to his Aunt Lucy in the Home for Retired Bears where she lives in Peru.

The pencil boards depict various scenes from the books, illustrated with detailed lineart and soft watercolors.

The A6 size pencil board shows Paddington sharing a nice chat over a cup of hot cocoa with Mr. Gruber. The back of the board is brown like cocoa, with an image of Mr. Gruber’s antique shop.

The A5 size pencil board shows a silly scene where Paddington looks on curiously as the Browns search for Paddington inside their fireplace. The back of the board is a soft yellow and shows Paddington heading to bed with his scrapbook he got from the Browns and some cake.

The Weeks size pencil board shows Paddington making his first attempt at doing laundry at a laundromat. The back of the board is light blue and features an image of Paddington’s face deep in concentration as he pours detergent into the washing machine.

One side is labeled by millimeter to act as a metric ruler, and a “Today” tab on the corner marks the current page if you’d like to use it as a bookmark as well.

In addition to the techo, our Paddington™ lineup includes stationery and accessories that make a great set when used together.
